Walking in the Central Park on a gloom Sunday afternoon, I was thinking , in Beijing , the heart of the city was called ' Forbidden City ' while in New York , heart of the city is called , Central Park .

One thing that I misunderstood about Amazon is its B to B business , 1/3 of value went through is sellers working on its platform. Mark Casey , speaker and also one buy-side analyst mentioned the amount around 40% top of its revenue , which also earns 13% as GPM .

The question's margin blended did not improve because of this part of business , which also grew faster than rest of the other part.

How to evalue its ' cloud business ' AWS which accounts 2% or 800m USD as revenue remain the questions , this part drove valuation from 50x to 100x in one year though .

We explored Telegraph , southern part of Berkeley as well as where Meo is located . It is a great book store simply because it serve used book with very good price . It is also holding a great volume , two shelves of music sheet as well . ( Not for violin that I could find yet )

China Town is definitely old and shabby ，as old as Yu Garden 10 years ago in Shanghai , style mixed as Kowloon City in Hong Kong , combined with Califonia sunshine and western faces. Cantongnese restaurant was crowded , reminding me to those Dim Sum restaurant in Happy Vally. 

New US Dreams

20 something is hunting education and more challenging job opportunities ; 30 something came for better healthcare covers for new babies ; 50 something are planning to invest properties in California , attracted by the weather and discounted price , also with consideration for kids ; that leaves 40 something always struggling move back facing obstacles in careers or even higher barrier in the US main streams. 

California Rolls 

Last night we went for Japanese food in Kirala . Having taken all kinds of rolls in Hong Kong , we tried true California rolls in its origins . Ingrediant with fatty avocado balancing with fresh crab and refine rice as well as tobiko in amber. 

Overwhelmingly shocked is a common experience in Hong Kong , even so after travelling across Tseugn Kwan O , Kowloon Bay and a magic crowded building called Mega Box , where a queue cost half an hour to get on a shuttle bus . Am I being in Shanghai expo again ? 

I've decided moving from HK island to its oversea ' New Territory ' , where a 200 sqft dining room will be new to me , but a 50 sqft bedroom will still be old ; the apartment is borrowed and the sea is blue, and the sky ! At least recently !

and Opera of ' La Traviata ' in Venice ; unique paintings of Leonardo Da Vanci and Michelangelo in Uffizi of Florence; sculptures in Museo e Galleria Borghese of Roma; Cappella Sistina in Vantican City ... those cannot be taken by camera , they were taken by my eyes and memorized by heart . 

For years , I've been shopping through Taobao . It is so easy to choose , click and save my wallet , only delivery sometimes troublesome since I have to have them sent to my mom's and pick them up in Shanghai. Shipping to HK from mainland can cost a lot more and from time to time , restricted by investigation. 

But it is a rapid upgrading website , from only C2C platform to many things more . Shopping mall bringing B2C and Alimama links out bounders blog , IM , email , BBS and even mobile sms. Moreover , several weeks ago , Taobao alliances with Eastern Airline to sell air tickets through high profile press conference with Jack presents . However , air tickets delivery has been function on Taobao for long time. The offline agencies long time ago selling tickets online , deeply discounted , saving time on telephone , delivery , amending mistakes , etc.   This morning , Taobao surprised me by introducing ' Digital , Entertainment ' as a new catalog . Clicking the new function , there is a new world combining QQ zone , Tudou , e-magazine like ' Self ' . 

The model can work fundamentally Taobao owns the transaction records from every buyers and sellers for years , understanding what are the hits and who can afford them. Haven't mentioning Alipay , the paying platform idea from Paypal , but much well applied by functioning paying everything from utility bills, petty cash transaction among friends , and digital card payments for business from online game , to tickets , e-commerce ... It is so popular and large amount of cash flow in and out every minutes that if one day if it would be nationalized , not a surprise. 

How much market capitalization TB would require when listed ? And what is it for ? 

I am thinking about tailor-made my wedding dress from a studio found on Taobao . VW ... girls want them even without grooms...

1) unfair commitments with insider investors , especially with private equity fund

2) new listed company or switching from OTC to main-board

3) transmission business model 

4) upgrading the product mix 

5) changing of key executives 

6) success given by temporary weakened competitors

In 2008 , the market taught me that ' timing really counts in making investment decision ' , and in 2009 , what refresh my knowledge about investment is that   ' I am making mistake everyday '.

No bubbles, no gain . That's the rule of capital market.

What is more possible to happen ? A company's earnings growth CAGR 100% for three years or CAGR 50% for 10 years ? If either , then why earnings mutiple deserves 100 times ? A GEM is the celebrating party of Private Equity Fund , and nightmere for the secondary market.

In Shanghai , year of 1998 my parents paid 20k for apartment around 100 sqm^2 where four families , grandparents , my two aunties' and mine lived in for already fifteen years to the government . Eleven years later , in 2009 May , we paid 100 times more than that for a similar sized apartment , much modern neighbourhood , of course , but to be delivered in one year to the commerialized government.

But the world needs bubbles. Europe lagged behide the US in internet development , one of the reasons is the less advanced capital market . It is government's administration decision whether to over capex at this stage to stress the determination on carbon dioxide emission cut .

In the last SIS class , the Volkswagen of America case , released , first time to me , that how marketing oriented is for this century-long auto maker highly respected for conscientiousness .

But I believe in one phase of its company history , techonology breakthrough / innovation could be major driver , no wonder beetles could be so popular for its rounded design and air-condition system. When comes the phase that automatic / safty / inner comfort system are standardized to all top tier makers , the marketing-focus which come naturally from consumer products dominated the company.

What is it mean to the Chinese auto maker ? Is BYD F3 success really because of its techonology advantage against domestic maker , Ghery QQ or Geely Free Cruiser or Geely Vision , or because it graspped the mixed market looking for B class car with economical price below 100k RMB ? Why Tian Ji won the hourse race? He first knew his advantages and disadvantages , bearing the lose and finally win overall game competing with his strangest part .

Here comes another question , is China auto market comes to the phase that marketing anchors the turning point ?
